Default The Terpsichorean

Terpsichorean (a.k.a. The dancer)

The terpsichorean is a midliner that uses special skills called Dance while attacking from afar. Also uses stances and shouts.

Dance description.
Dances act like spirits, in that they Buff allies, Debuff Enemies, or perhaps more. The Dance effect is only maintainable while the character is not moving (But appears to be dancing in one spot so technically….he/she is moving but just not around….) unless otherwise stated. However they can attack while using a Dance with throwing knives. There may be only one Buff on allies AND debuff on enemies active at the same time. (For example, you can have a buff and debuff but not 2 buffs, or 2 debuffs and a buff) Dances aren’t activated, but are active as soon as the player puts them on his bar (Or goes into an explorable area in GW1 terms) If the player has a skill interrupted (Any skill, Attack skills count but NOT regular attacks) then the dance(s) takes 7 seconds of downtime before being active again. If knocked down (No matter what the palyer’s action is) The dance takes 5 seconds of downtime, starting from when the player recovers from the KD. (3 second KD would mean an 8 second downtime)

If you click on the dance skill while in an explorable area, you disable the dance for 5 or 10 seconds (Can't decide) This is so you can use skills that take effect while not in a dance. But be aware that if you are a supportive dancer, stopping your dance could be dangerous to the team.

So class isn’t just a buff machine, while in solo play the dances have greater effects then in party play where the power is divided into the team. Debuffs depend on the amount of enemies ALWAYS. You cannot decide who receives the buff or debuff. Buffs are always decided by party size while debuffs are decided by enemies in range.

I'm thinking of making blind foes and allies not affected by dance....

I could foresee farming abuse for a class whose effects are stronger by themselves than in a party.

I admit, I like dance, but I would think that a dance should almost be like a stance instead of an always active buff - but I do like the fact that you made it susceptible to any interrupts.

Only other thing to add - Double Step and Aggressive Dance are both stances. There's no way for Aggressive to be affected by Double Step.

Maybe it's just because I've recently seen the Speedwalker but I actually kinda like this one

Interesting idea I like the concept fits into one of the standard Rogue variants of many rpgs.
Definitely a bard but using dance instead of song or instrument.

I think at the moment its a little overpowered in some areas but it has potential.

Weaknesses would seem to be the armour at 60 its on the low side for a combat class albeit midline.

The thrown dagger would have to be carefully used if the build was on an inexperienced player or a hero stepping forward to follow a target would blow the dance.

Class would seem to be very vulnerable to crippling attacks "dance with a limp"

Just a few early morning thoughts and first impression.

I realize this. I wanted to make the class so that in GW2 where it seems that solo play and less buff classes are popular, that it could do it solo, but there also has to be limitations in solo play. Very hard thing to accomplish with the way I want dance to act.
